VICTORVILLE, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Victor Valley residents can securely dispose of old paper documents and obtain free compost at the next Shred-Fest, hosted by the City of Victorville on Saturday, November 7, from 8 a.m. until noon.
The event takes place at the Victor Valley Materials Recovery Facility, 17000 Abbey Lane, Victorville, CA 92395, according to the city’s official schedule.
How much paper can you bring?
The city says Victor Valley residents may bring up to four 20-pound bags or boxes of documents for on-site shredding. This is a drive-through service; residents should place paper in their vehicle’s trunk to help the staff unload it.
Staples may remain in the paper, but participants should remove binders, large metal clips and non-paper materials such as compact discs and credit cards. Shredding old records helps reduce clutter while taking care with private information.
Free compost is also available
Residents can collect up to 50 gallons of compost. They must bring their own containers; the city recommends hard-sided containers. The compost offer is for local residents, not businesses or commercial vehicles.
Weather and questions
The event is advertised as taking place rain or shine. November 7 is the city’s final scheduled quarterly Shred-Fest date for 2026. Previous 2026 events occurred in February, May and August and should not be confused with the upcoming event.
For questions about participation rules, contact the City of Victorville Environmental Programs Division at 760-955-8615 or email Environment@VictorvilleCA.gov. Confirm any last-minute changes before traveling.
