VICTORVILLE, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Victorville has advanced a citywide road maintenance project intended to extend the life of existing pavement and improve road markings at multiple locations.
The California State Clearinghouse received the city’s environmental exemption notice on October 12, 2026 for the 2026 Citywide Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Project. It describes asphalt pavement repairs, crack sealing, slurry seal, micro-surfacing and re-striping.
What does the work involve?
Crack sealing helps keep water out of existing pavement, while slurry sealing and micro-surfacing can extend service life where roadbeds remain structurally adequate. Re-striping can improve visibility of lanes and road markings for drivers and pedestrians.
The city says the work covers various locations throughout Victorville. The state environmental summary does not provide a block-by-block schedule or show that every route has already received treatment.
What does the environmental notice confirm?
The city used a Class 1 categorical exemption for maintenance of existing roadways, which is distinct from authorizing an entirely new road. This filing documents environmental treatment, but it is not evidence that construction is complete, that specific lanes are currently closed or that a particular street is scheduled tomorrow.
Local meeting coverage of the October 6 council agenda also described a proposed construction award of approximately $1.59 million; the precise executed contract and final expenditures should be verified through the city rather than inferred solely from an agenda recommendation.
How to check your street
Residents can contact Victorville’s Public Works and engineering departments through the city website or call Assistant City Engineer Harry Mayo at 760-955-5158, the contact named in the state filing. Report potholes or damaged markings using the official city reporting tools.
