VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. Victorville is among 12 San Bernardino County municipalities set to receive a share of federal emergency preparedness money after county supervisors approved acceptance of approximately $500,000 at their November 3 meeting. The county disclosed the decision November 5.
How the money is divided
About $293,000 will support the county Office of Emergency Services. The remaining $207,000 will be distributed among Big Bear Lake, Chino, Chino Hills, Fontana, Montclair, Needles, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Upland, Victorville and Yucca Valley. The county did not release a city-by-city allocation in the announcement, so it would be inaccurate to say Victorville alone will receive $207,000 or $500,000.
What the grant can support
The Emergency Management Performance Grant program supports planning and the ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters. The current grant period runs through June 2027. High Desert residents face a range of potential disruptions, including wildfire smoke, high winds, flooding and road closures; the grant announcement, however, does not specify a newly purchased vehicle, shelter or equipment for Victorville.
What should residents look for next?
Local governments can explain what their individual allocations will pay for, who will deliver the services and how readiness improvements will be assessed. Countywide approval is only the first step. Residents can consult the county’s emergency preparedness resources for practical planning and alerts while those details are developed.
